“For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.”   (Psalm 16:10)

King David, who wrote Psalm 16, is both dead and buried.  But he was a Prophet.  He knew that God had sworn to him with an oath to raise up Messiah (a descendant of David) to sit on his throne.  He thus foretold the RESURRECTION of Messiah in Psalm 16:10.

The idea of a physical, bodily, visible RESURRECTION can be seen in the TANACH (Hebrew Scriptures).  It was the hope of Job (one of the oldest books in the Bible) and the teaching of Hebrew Prophets such as Isaiah and Daniel.

“For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth: And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God.”   (Job 19:25-26)

“Thy dead men shall live, together with my dead body shall they arise. Awake and sing, ye that dwell in dust: for thy dew is as the dew of herbs, and the earth shall cast out the dead.”   (Isaiah 26:19)

“And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.”   (Daniel 12:2)

Yeshua HaMashiach (Jesus the Messiah) clearly taught a physical, bodily resurrection during His earthly ministry in Israel.  He foretold a Resurrection of Life and a Resurrection of Damnation.  He also foretold His own Death and Resurrection.

“Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.”   (John 5:28-29)

“From that time forth began Jesus to show unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be RAISED AGAIN the third day.”   (Matthew 16:21)   (Emphasis mine)

He repeated this prophecy of his death and resurrection on at least two additional occasions (Matthew 17:23 and 20:19).  And it happened, just the way He foretold it.  His resurrection is one of the best-attested events of all history.

Many saw him.  He spoke with them, ate and drank with them, touched and blessed them, over a 40-day period.  Many of the over 500 witnesses who saw him, later sealed their testimony with their own blood.  They would rather die than deny what they KNEW to be true.

In a court of law, it usually takes only two (2) honest witnesses to establish as true an event they have witnessed.  In the case of the Resurrection of the Messiah, we have over 500 witnesses -- honest, hard working people ready to die rather than to change their testimony.

“And as they thus spake, Jesus himself stood in the midst of them, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.  But they were terrified and affrighted, and supposed that they had seen a spirit.

And he said unto them, Why are ye troubled? and why do thoughts arise in your hearts?

Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.

And when he had thus spoken, he showed them his hands and his feet.  And while they yet believed not for joy, and wondered, he said unto them, Have ye here any meat?  And they gave him a piece of a broiled fish, and of an honeycomb.  And he took it, and did eat before them.

And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the Law of Moses, and in the Prophets, and in the Psalms, concerning me.

Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the Scriptures,

And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to RISE FROM THE DEAD the third day:

And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.  And ye are witnesses of these things.”   (Luke 24:36-48)   (Emphasis mine)

“For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures; And that he was buried, and that HE ROSE AGAIN the third day according to the Scriptures: And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve:

After that, he was SEEN of above FIVE HUNDRED brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep.  After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles.

And last of all he was SEEN OF ME also, as of one born out of due time.  For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.”   (1 Corinthians 15:3-9)   (Emphasis mine)

The Resurrection of Messiah is proof that God accepted His Redemptive Work on the Cross for the Elect.  His Death, Burial and Resurrection are the grounds for God to JUSTIFY (declare legally righteous) those who repent of sin and put their faith in Jesus the Christ.

Messiah's righteousness is IMPUTED TO (put to the account of) those who savingly believe on Him.  The Resurrection of Christ is part of the glad tidings (Gospel).  It is a fact that we must believe in order to be JUSTIFIED by God.

“.... to whom it shall be IMPUTED, if we believe on him that RAISED UP Jesus our Lord from the dead; Who was delivered for our offences, and was RAISED AGAIN for our JUSTIFICATION.”   (Romans 4:24-25)   (Emphasis mine)

Some argue against the resurrection of the body on the grounds that not all bodies are buried.  Some are cremated; others lost at sea, others blown to bits, etc.  They question how God will bring all the same molecules back together to resurrect each person's dead body.

RESURRECTION is a MIRACLE.  The same God who formed each of us in our mother's womb can also raise us from the dead.  The elect shall be changed for the better and the non-elect (damned) shall be changed for the worse  -- but both groups will retain their identity.

Change is not inconsistent with the retention of identity.  Even now, every seven years, we are told, every particle in our body changes, yet through it all the body retains its identity.

For the elect, the Resurrection of Life will mean no more sin and no more curse.  It will mean no more pain, nor sorrow, nor tears, nor sickness, nor old age, nor death.  It will mean a beautiful, healthy, strong body free to love God and enjoy Him (and His Creation) forever.

“So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption:  It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power:

It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.”   (1 Corinthians 15:42-44)

It was no accident that Messiah died during the Feast of Passover.  Christ our Passover was sacrificed for us.  Nor was it an accident that he ROSE from the dead in the spring of the year -- during the budding rebirth and renewal of nature -- in the season of the “first fruits”.

“But now IS Christ RISEN from the dead, and become the FIRSTFRUITS of them that slept.  For since by man came death, by man came also the RESURRECTION of the dead.  For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.

But every man in his own order: CHRIST THE FIRSTFRUITS; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming.”   (1 Corinthians 15:20-23)   (Emphasis mine)

Tulip Gems is a Calvinistic Baptist web site that honors Jesus Christ and provides a free Hyperinflation Survival Guide.  We offer free Bible Articles on several subjects, including Bible Nutrition , Creation Science versus Evolution Passover , The Great Commission and Tulip Calvinism

Which Bible can we trust? Which Bible is the most accurate? Why KJV only? Read our Which Bible series of articles for answers from both Scripture and history (including a Rebuttal of James White's book, The King James Only Controversy).

We also offer a well-documented Vietnam Veteran Story that illustrates the mercy of God.  The Vietnam Veteran Story, found on our Combat Vet page, comes from published accounts of Vietnam Veterans experiences, as well as this Vietnam Veterans experiences, told first hand.

Concerned about inflation leading to hyperinflation? Some say buy silver and gold coins. Others say it is evil to own silver and gold coins. What does the Bible teach us? Tulip Gems offers an Hyperinflation Survival Guide which provides a Biblical basis for ownership of silver and gold coins as an hedge against the horrors of hyperinflation.  Links to online vendors are also provided.

Will out of control government spending lead to hyperinflation, and possibly to a new world currency? Will a new world currency lead to the Mark of the Beast (666)? Will the Rapture occur before the Tribulation (Pre-Tribulational Rapture) or will the Rapture occur after the Tribulation (Post-Tribulational Rapture)? For Biblical answers, visit our
Mark of the Beast Explained page.

Will America come under nuclear attack? What does the Bible say? For reliable information on what to do in a nuclear attack, read our
Survive Nuclear Attack page. While many Calvinists shy away from Bible prophecy, we don't. For those who want Biblical guidance about the future, check out our Hyperinflation Survival Guide, Mark of the Beast Explained and Survive Nuclear Attack pages. Our Lord Jesus Christ spoke often about the events leading up to His Second Coming. Where our Good Shepherd leads, we may safely follow.

Who is Jesus Christ? Why KJV only? Why Home School your children? Jesus Christ is Lord and the KJV Bible is the Preserved Word of God in English.  Finally, Scripture gives us compelling reasons to Home School our children. One very important reason is to lead them to Our Passover Lamb. We recommend Christ-centered Home Schooling Curriculum.
